I'm going to share a little trivia with you: the phrase 'straight from the
horse's mouth' came from the horse betting arena. If you wanted to know which
of the horses to bet on, you would try to find out all the information you
could directly from the trainers and the stable mates. These are the people
who lived with them, fed them, nursed them back to health - the ones who really
knew everything about them. In essence - 'straight from the horse's mouth'
The same is true with candidates who want to know about your company. They want
to hear from people that already work there. They are interested in the benefits
of being affiliated with your company. They want to know what tools are available
to help them achieve their career goals. How is the atmosphere, and will I fit in?
They are eager to understand what sets your company apart in the marketplace.
Put employee testimonials on your website. This not only showcases your talent to
recruits, but it also is a great retention tool.
